Matthew D. Bauer

Matthew Bauer became interested in acupuncture and Chinese medicine after injuring his back in 1973 and seeking out ways to treat that injury. He studied acupressure from a Japanese Shiatsu Master and then began studying Taoist philosophy from a 74th generation Taoist Master in 1978. He enrolled in acupuncture college in 1983 and began his practice after getting his California Acupuncture License in 1986. Matthew went on to study qi-gong and advanced healing techniques and incorporates those techniques into his practice together with Chinese Herbal medicine, nutritional, and exercise/lifestyle advice. In addition to his practice, Matthew has dedicated his career to educating people about acupuncture/Chinese medicine. He has worked as an Expert Witness for the California Acupuncture Board, a Subject Matter Expert for the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and helped to develop the nation’s first managed care insurance plans for acupuncture as a consultant and now member of the Board of Directors of American Specialty Health Group. In 2014 Matthew founded the Acupuncture Now Foundation, an international non-profit that works to educate the public, healthcare providers, and health policymakers about the practice of acupuncture. He is the author of two books including “The Healing Power of Acupressure and Acupuncture”.
Mike Worley

Mike began his acupuncture journey nearly two decades ago. He studied at the Southern California University of Health Sciences and interned at a hospital in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. As a teenager, Mike was neighbors with Matthew and Gayle and first introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine at that time. Matthew later became Mike’s mentor when he discovered his calling as an acupuncturist. Mike is fluent in Spanish.
